The Secret Oasis hill villas sit roughly 200 metres above Plakias Bay, on the slope behind the village of Lefkogeia. From this height the coastline opens out: directly below you is the long curve of Plakias Beach, to the east the sheer face of Paligremnos Rock and beyond that the bay of Damnoni; to the west, the smaller coves towards Souda Beach and the silhouette of the Preveli palm forest. The Libyan Sea stretches all the way to the horizon, with no other coastline in sight — the Sahara is the next landmass to the south.

This is the reason almost every guest review mentions the view first. It's not a hotel "sea view" room with a triangle of blue between two buildings. It's the full bay, unobstructed, from your own private terrace.

Which Secret Oasis villa has the best sea view?

All four hill villas share the same elevation and the same orientation south over Plakias Bay — so the view itself is the same panoramic stretch from every villa. What differs is the framing:

• Villa 1 & Villa 2 — the two big four-bedroom villas with a private balcony jacuzzi and an outdoor bathtub. Best for taking in the view from a long, slow morning soak.
• Villa 3 & Villa 4 — the two intimate one-bedroom villas, with a more sheltered terrace and a closer view of the planting and palms framing the sea behind.
• Secret Garden sits lower in the valley — it has a partial sea view through the palm trees rather than the full panorama, and trades the view for total enclosure and a wood-fired pizza oven.

Sunsets and golden hour

The orientation of the hill means the sun sets to the west, into the sea behind the western headland — at golden hour the whole bay turns warm and the white walls of the villas glow. From late spring to early autumn this is the moment most guests sit down on the terrace with a glass of something cold and stop checking their phones. There are no other buildings in your line of sight to break the view.

A view, but also a real Plakias villa

• Closest beach: Plakias Beach, ~6 minutes by car. Damnoni and Ammoudi are also within 10 minutes.
• Check-in from 15:00, check-out by 11:00. Minimum stay 5 days.
