See moreMost Plakias villas sit either right in the village or scattered up the hills behind it. Secret Oasis belongs to the second kind: the four hill villas are reached by a short unpaved track and rise about 200 metres above the bay, which gives you the view but also the silence. There are no neighbouring buildings overlooking the pools. The road back down to the beach takes 6–8 minutes by car.
Every villa in the estate has its own private pool — shielded from the other villas by terraces, walls and planting. Villa 1 and Villa 2 additionally have a private jacuzzi on the balcony. The Secret Garden retreat in the valley has its own pool inside the enclosed garden. There is no shared pool anywhere on the property — privacy is the whole point of the estate.
All four hill villas have a full sea view over Plakias Bay — from the pool, the bedrooms and the breakfast terrace. The Secret Garden retreat sits lower in the valley, with a partial sea view between the palms and the slope of the hill. Sunset from the upper terraces is the emotional signature of a stay at Secret Oasis.
Most guests fly into Chania (CHQ, ~1h45 drive) or Heraklion (HER, ~1h45 drive). Plakias itself is roughly 35 km south of Rethymno through the dramatic Kourtaliotiko Gorge — one of the most scenic drives on the island.
